I’ve been tagged by the lovely Katie Lamb to take part in Blog Your Heart Out.
I answer 5 set questions about myself and my blog(s), then tag in other great bloggers to give their answers. It’s a brilliant way of getting to know fellow bloggers by answering the questions you want to know the answers to.
Who/What encouraged you to start blogging?
I started my first blog literaturekitty.co.uk a few years ago. I had finished uni and been working in publishing for a while and missed the kind of reading and analysis of literature I did on my English Lit course. I’ve always enjoyed looking at language, and yes, I am a grammar nazi. That’s why it takes me so long to write posts. I read everything ten times over in case there are any mistakes and am still never happy with it! I started stickerkitten.co.uk more recently as I have always loved stickers and collected them since I was little. I kept buying them and wanted to share them with everyone! My hubby built both my websites for me and encouraged me to blog, and now he is a web designer and likes to constantly re-invent my sites!
How did you choose what to blog about?
It was easy to focus on the two things I love – books and stickers! Stickerkitten eventually evolved into a craft blog as I got more and more into cardmaking. I’m not even sure how it happened – I think I couldn’t resist all the shiny things in Hobbycraft and then I had to start making cards so I could do something with it all!
What is something most people don`t know about you?
I’m a pretty open person so there’s not a lot people don’t know! If you ask, I’ll tell ya. Perhaps that I’m a secret nerd and play computer games (when I actually have time…).
What three words describe your style?
In terms of cardmaking – vintage, layered, die-cut.
What do you love to do when you are not blogging?
My favourite thing is obvs cardmaking and crafting. Other than that I like going to Zumba and I’m also learning Spanish. Sometimes I bake. Badly. I love reading and watching various TV shows – Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, True Blood – plus trashy TV like Secret Eaters! I also seem to waste a lot of time mooching around online when I should be getting on with something productive. I also work full time as a production editor for an academic publisher. I oversee the copyediting, typesetting and proofreading processes and send books to press – tis a fun job, and I get to indulge my love of grammar checking proofs. I also learn a lot from the bits of books I read as I’m working on them (in the areas of philosophy, history, theatre, language and linguistics, literature, Middle Eastern studies, media etc).
