Hi everyone! Today there’s a video update from me covering all my recent crafty adventures (in August 2015)!
I’ve been making cushion covers using a really simple technique and some pretty Laura Ashley and bee fabrics and this prompted me to try out sewing on cards. I used Bohemian papers to create a torn paper border and then stitched over them. I love the shabby chic effect it creates! I die cut a circle aperture in the card and tied on a key with twine. This is one of the cards I’ve made to send in for Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine’s Cardmaker of the Year competition.
While I was crafting with the Bohemian range I made a couple more cards using twine wrapped round a paper panel and secured at the back with 3D foam tape. I also learned a bit of origami to create a paper crane for the paper-only card I’m entering for Trimcraft’s monthly challenge.
I’ve also bought a few bits from two new paper ranges that have come out this month – North Pole and Belle & Boo Christmas by Trimcraft. In the video I show you a quick card I’ve made with the North Pole range – using distressed paper, wooden frames and ribbon – and also have a look through the Belle & Boo paper and decoupage packs at all the different designs.
Finally, I have been sent some lovely ribbon, craft tapes and stickers by docrafts for an exciting new project that will be live on the docrafts website in September!
