The Docrafts Project Design Team girlies decided to do an ATC swap recently and it has been so much fun! I’ve not made an ATC before (ATC stands for Artist Trading Card – it’s like a collectible little artwork). We sent our ATCs into docrafts HQ and Jaiq swapped them and sent them out to us. Mine arrived yesterday from Julie Wilson and it’s so cute! As soon as I opened it and took it out the little envelope pocket I loved the little decoupaged owl with silver gemstone eyes and happy sentiment.
It feels really personalised as Julie has doodled pretty borders and added the sentiment in handwriting, and it feels nice and sturdy with lots of layers of card! A really nice keepsake. I make a lot of cards and give away a lot but don’t receive handmade things as often so it is nice to have something so gorgeous arrive in the post!
Here’s the ATC that I made – I am not sure yet who has mine!
I used the Nature’s Gallery range to build up layers of decoupage and cut-out elements on top of a stamped and inked background. I have discovered I really like working in miniature! I think you could also adapt ATCs to feature as toppers as the focal point of a card. Might give that a try next!
