How to do heat embossing

Hi everyone, I’ve put together a quick little video tutorial on how to do heat embossing for anyone who is new to it and hasn’t tried it before, or even if you have and you’d like to see me try out a few different kinds of embossing powders you might find it interesting.

I decided to make a few male cards this time as it can often be hard to think of ideas for chaps but this little Sky’s the Limit set from Stampin’ Up is ideal. And it just goes to show you can have a bit of gold, silver or sparkle on a card and keep to a masculine colour scheme.

The papers I’ve used are free printables from the docrafts site. They’re not available anymore but you may be able to find something similar: https://www.docrafts.com/Downloads

The little letters I’ve used on the two A6 cards are from the docrafts Roald Dahl collection.

After I’d used all my little heat embossed planes I did one final card with a nice big lace bow on the front and the glittered ‘happy birthday’, which I die cut with one of the Xcut label dies. This one’s not very masculine, I know, but there are only so many male cards I can do before I have to go put a big bow on something or cover it in flowers and butterflies.
