Hi everyone! This month’s blog hop is focused on things that remind us of summer. Well, normally in summer I have started my Christmas crafting! All the seasons are the wrong way round in the craft world as by Christmas we are well on to Valentine’s Day crafting and into spring!
It was my birthday on Friday and I decided to have a Stampin’ Up party for me and my friends yesterday to celebrate. Our local demonstrator Trudee Williams came round with all kinds of craft goodies and we made lots of projects. We started off making three tags each, with elements from the tag kit and some pretty pine tree stamps. I also used the grunge stamp set on a couple of mine.
I managed to fit in a quick card when testing out the stamps to see if they would make a pretty forest.
I also had a quick play with the No Bones About It stamp set.
It’s not a very good card but it was fun to try out all the different stamps and inks!
Our next project was to make a little Halloween treat box using a Sizzix die.
The bat on the front is actually made using the build-an-owl punch! It’s very versatile.
Our final project was a framed stamped picture. Trudee showed us how to use brushes to blend inks round the edge of blue cardstock to create a snowy scene. I stamped my image using the White Christmas stamp set and Blackberry Bliss ink, then highlighted the snowy bits with a white gel pen. I love this little stamp set and I am going to order it!
Well, back to crafting with docrafts goodies after this until my order arrives! Hop around and see everyone’s summer-inspired projects here:
