Mermaid Treasures paper tearing card tutorialHi crafters, happy Friday! Are you glad the weekend is here? I am looking forward to doing a bit of crafting in between helping sort out the kitchen, which James has just refitted. There’s utensils in the living room and washing up in the bath so there’s a lot to sort out. But more importantly, I have a lovely Mermaid Treasures paper tearing card tutorial for you today, put together by design team member Sam (check out her lovely blog: https://mylittlepaperworld.blogspot.com/).
Sam says: Paper tearing is the perfect technique to match with Mermaid Treasure Collection Box. It’s an easy and simple way to create a fun background that can represent the waves of an ocean.
You will need
From the Mermaid Treasures collection:
Mermaid Treasures Sparkly Sequins
Mermaid Treasures Die-Cut Ephemera
Mermaid Treasures Basics Paper Pack
Mermaid Treasures Photopolymer Stamps (Birthday Fishes)
Other supplies:
Cardstock
Black Ink
Sewing Machine
Tape Runner/Gluedots/Multi Medium Matte
Paper Trimmer/Scissors
Step 1: Take three strips of pattern paper (measuring: 5cm x 10cm) and rip the bottoms off each one.
Step 2: Adhere these three strips to the top of your card front as shown. (Card front measurements: 10cm x 14.5cm)
Step 5: Add machine stitched details (optional). Tip: Try using hand stitching or re-create similar stitched details using a black or white pen.
I love how well these makes show off the different cute elements in the collection! Ps if you like the little wooden jellies on the side, they are available exclusively in the complete collection craft box here. Happy crafting! And if you have any comments or questions please just let us know – we love to hear from you. You can contact us here or on our Facebook page.
