Hello!

I am a huge fan of gap cards and they are always so popular at my demos which I am missing a great deal at the moment.  There are a number of ways a gap can be incorporated into a card design so I thought I’d share 3 of my favourites using the Sticker Kitten Succulent Collection!

 
 

To begin I will go through the most traditional form of gap card.  In order to make this you simply need to cut out a section from the middle of your card base.  I opted to cut a section slightly lower than the centre of my card and I added acetate from the back to secure the 2 panels.

I used distress oxide ink pads to create the background using the Succulent Stamp set and stamping in an adhoc fashion over the 2 panels.

Next, I heat embossed a panel using the rectangular stamp from the same set in white and went over it with my distress oxide ink again. I die cut a circle from the panel and stuck it on the front of my card.

I adhered a couple of pieces from the ephemera pack on the circle and added glitter glue to the succulents, finishing with a sentiment. I stuck a contrasting sheet of paper from the Succulent Paper pad inside the card as it shows through the acetate.

 
 

For my next card, I opted to use a die to create a number of gaps from a sheet of the Succulent paper pad.  I slotted some of the Happy Faces Succulent Ephemera into the gaps and added a couple of sentiments.  To finish I added a few sequins.

For my final card, I have opted for a ‘faux’ gap card.  Even though this card has a gap, it is created simply by adding foam pads to a sheet from the Succulent paper pad thus raising it and giving the appearance of a gap.

To add texture to my card I stuck some ephemera to the sheet of paper I used and cut around the edges.  I added some red sequins from my stash.  The gap was covered with a contrasting colour of paper, finished with the addition of a couple of sentiments.
