How to do dry brushing for a metallic effectHi crafters! And happy weekend ^_^ In this blog post I just wanted to catch you all up with what I’ve been doing over the past few weeks, and also show you a little tutorial on how to do dry brushing for a metallic effect on your wooden embellishments.
Well firstly we have really busy over spring and summer so far working on our Christmas ranges, which I’ll tell you more about in my next blog post, but here I just want to share with you a few pictures from the Bee Garden embellishments workshop I held at the Mulberry Bush a few weeks ago.
Here we are set up and ready to go at the Mulberry Bush. It’s such a pretty place to sit and craft, surrounded by shelves of lovely products!
I always do an instruction sheet for each workshop so everyone can see what we’re doing and in which order. It also has hints and tips for everyone to take home with them. Here I am showing the ladies the tag we’re about to make.
We started off by using different mediums to add a finish to our embellishments, including gold paint, clear gloss, crackle glaze and glitter glues. And of course everyone needs a good cuppa while crafting!
Working on our tags. We made a pretty flower out of Bee Garden paper by cutting a circle, cutting it round in a spiral shape, and rolling it to make the flower.
