Learn to paint acrylic flowers Khokloma style Folk Art on handmade paper to create a beautiful handmade art journal!
When: Saturday 22 March 2025, 10.30am to 1pm (2 1/2 hours).
Where: The Mulberry Bush, Unit 3A the Barns, Lower Henwick Farm, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG18 3AP. Parking is free right outside the shop.
Join workshop host Sylvia Roberts to create a handpainted and handbound art journal using Khokloma style Folk Art.
• Use simple paint strokes to create pretty flowers and a background on handmade paper to use as your cover.
• You will assemble your journal using blank handmade paper, blank watercolour paper and blank mixed media paper which you can use as a record of your own work going forward to keepsake.
• Your journal will also have some printed pages from digital decorative images that adds strength to your book but also somewhere for you to write and make notes.
• Learn how to bind your journal in a Midori style so you can add to it.
• Paint and brushes, specialty papers, binding, adhesive and scissors will be provided but feel free to bring your favourite craft tools too.
• Tea, coffee and biscuits will also be provided to round off our wonderful creative morning.
