Hello and Happy January! It’s Samantha here, sharing my first set of StickerKitten cards for the New Year. I LOVE January…Why? Its my Birthday month! Hooray! I haven’t always celebrated my birthday but more recently (now that I have young kids) make an effort to at least order a birthday cake for the special day! I thought I’d start the year off by creating birthday cards – and I knew which perfect StickerKitten stamp set to play with…that’s right! I’m using Alpaca Wishes along with the sentiment from Birthday Dinos to create a non Christmas related card!

You will need

StickerKitten Supplies Used:

Alpaca Wishes Stamp

Birthday Dinos Stamp

Lawn Fawn Ink

Orange/Green/Blue/Black/White Cardstock

Watermark Ink/White Embossing Powder/Heat Gun

Foam Tape/TapeRunner/GlueDot

Enamel Dots

A6 Card/Envelope Pack

Scissors/PaperTrimmer

Silhouette Cameo

Instructions

Step 1: After selecting your ink pad colours use both Alpaca images to create your background on a white 10.5 cm x 15.5 cm card front.

Tip: Practice on scrap paper first if you are unsure of the placement of the stamps. I’ve always found starting close to the middle and working your way around the first stamped image helps. The first stamped Alpaca was the pink upright one under the sentiment. From here I continued to stamp around it alternating ink colours.

Step 2: Stamp the sentiment using watermark ink on black cardstock. Apply a generous amount of white embossing powder then set with a heat gun. Fussy cut around the sentiment.

Step 3: Stamp the scarf image 3x on 3 different coloured pieces of card stock. Fussy cut around the stamped image.

Step 4: Adhere the sentiment and scarfs using foam tape. Adhere card front to an A6 card base. Embellish the card with a twine bow and enamel dots.

Additional Information: You can choose whatever colour palette you want. I went with bright festive colours after searching for Mexico traditional colours in Pinterest. If you wanted to make it more masculine switch out the pink for more deeper blues or green ink colours.

As you can see the second card involves less fussy cutting (or the use of an electronic cutting machine) but still packs the same bright, festive vibe the first birthday themed cards has. I was happy how both turned out and I hope you try this idea at home to get the most out of StickerKittens Alpaca Wishes stamp set. I love re-purposing Christmas themed stamps and Alpacas/Llamas are a great, fun animal to have on any card!

P.S As I wrote this blog post I decided that this year for my birthday I will be having ice cream Cake with bright colourful sprinkles to match these cards!

Happy Crafting!
