Hi crafters, and Happy Sunday! As I write it’s grey and drizzling outside but I’m sure that spring is on the way soon… In the meantime, nothing can stop us making our own pretty spring crafts! I have a few projects to share with you today using our Bird Garden range. I hope they provide you with a bit of inspiration.

Pop up box cards

First up we have a couple of gorgeous pop up box cards. This one was made by Mags Woodcock and I just love the way all the pretty ephemera pops out of the card!

Mags has used yellow patterned papers from our Bird Garden basics paper pack to cover the sides and flaps of the box card, and the back panel uses the pretty blue tit patterned paper from our designer paper pack. The pop up elements use the ephemera and I love how they all layer together so well.

I also love this sentiment Mags has added, and the little bird cut from one of the papers. A few sequins add the finishing touch to this design. If you want to have a go at making your own pop up box card there’s a great tutorial over at Papermill Direct here.

My mum has also made a pretty box card with the Bird Garden range but this time she has used kraft paper from the designer paper pack on the base and die cut lots of lovely flowers to spring out the top! She has used the Tattered Lace pop up box die.

Decorative paper lantern

Lanterns are something we often reserve for Christmas but this pretty spring-themed one would look right at home as a centrepiece on your Easter table. This project was again made by my mum (I promise I have actually done some of my own crafting this year!) and she has used the Crealies Create a Box Mini Lantern die.

She has added a pretty die cut flourish to the side, and some die cut hearts to the top. I like the way she has inked the edges of the lantern too to give it a bit of a shabby chic feel.

This little wooden bird is from our embellishment pack, and has been inked in blue and yellow and detail added with black pen. So pretty! My mum has also made a trio of curled paper roses for the top using papers from the basics pack.

Birdhouse

One more project from my mum! She did lots of crafting for me as we were preparing to launch the Bird Garden range on Hochanda, so that we had lots of samples to display on the show. I particularly like this one as it shows off the three colours in the basics paper pack really well.

This was made with the Crealies Create a Box Bird House die and again includes a pretty wooden bird and an abundance of die-cut flowers on top!

Blue tit birthday card

Finally we have a clean and simple card that I made to show how the kraft papers and bare wooden shapes add a rustic feel to an otherwise clean and simple card.

I started by tearing a strip of pink patterned kraft paper and adhering it to a 5×7 card blank, and then I added a white punched border on top, and a die-cut circle of blue patterned paper. I attached a blue tit ephemera topper using foam squares, and stamped a sentiment from the Bird Garden stamp set to go underneath. I then added three little flowers from the birds and flowers embellishments pack to finish off.
